We have made floats from a variety of materials for different applications requested by customers. We have used copper, brass, aluminum, steel, as well as several types of stainless steels. We have the capability to use almost any metal or plastic material in the manufacture of our products. Return to top Can Naugatuck adjust standard floats to fit unusual situations? Absolutely! The most common adjustments requested are specific gravity (a relationship of weight of float to volume of float) and buoyancy (a relationship of weight of displaced liquid to weight of float). Another common adjustment requested is with the material type. Naugatuck routinely makes these and other similar requested adjustments. Return to top Can Naugaatuck make a float that is not standard? We delight in the opportunity! While Naugatuck appreciates quantity orders of standard floats, making the non-standard item is our specialty. Naugatuck floats have been around since 1895. We have accumulated both the knowledge and equipment to make nearly any permutation of anything that can float. Return to top What is the normal delivery time? Naugatuck keeps a wide supply of frequently requested floats. Normally, on a stocked item, delivery can be as short as one day (out of plant). If the quantity requested exceeds the quantity available, we will normally ship a partial order (if requested) and follow with the remainder in ten (10) days to two weeks. We are well known for our floats, but also for a full line of ornamental and flagpole balls. We also have electron beam welding machines that are available for our customer’s special welding needs.
